From Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest:
If you debate for even one second when God has spoken, it is all over for you. Never start to say, “Well… I’m not sure if God really did speak to me.” Be reckless immediately – totally unrestrained and willing to risk everything – by casting your all upon Him. You do not know when His voice will come to you, but whenever the realization of God comes, even in the faintest way imaginable, be determined to recklessly abandon yourself, surrendering everything to Him. It is only through abandonment of yourself and your circumstances that you will recognize Him. You will only recognize His voice more clearly through recklessness – being willing to risk your all.
God, would you help me to be someone who is reckless for you?
Reckless in joy, reckless in compassion, reckless in bold bravery as I step out in love.
Reckless, to me, speaks of courage. It speaks to me of no shame.
I want to be courageous and brave, unbridled by any fear or hesitation, for my Jesus. His courage took him to the cross.
God, help us to keep our ears tuned to your still, small voice today. In every circumstance, in every situation, help us to be reckless in our response to your nudges. Whether it be to encourage someone, to abandon our own busy agenda to stop and help someone, remind us to surrender ourselves for you and your agenda of loving others.
